The Beginning Ballet classes are structured for people who want to
exercise by doing something artistic. Many of my students took ballet when
they were younger and love how ballet makes you supple and strong and some of my students have always wanted
to take Ballet but haven't had the opportunity until now.
Adult Open Ballet classes are great for all ages 18+. There is no
start date so you can decide when the classes will fit into your busy schedule.
We do the same series of Barre exercises for a month at a time, giving my
absolute beginners a chance to learn by repetition and the more advanced students
a chance to work on proper placement, epaulement and serenity of movement.
These ballet classes are conducted in a fun-challenging environment.
I keep the center floor exercises simple in order to instill a secure and
confident sense of movement when you are dancing. The class size is usually
between 13 & 20, a good size for me to pay close attention to my developing
students and encouraging the students with more training.
I studied exclusively with Irene Larsson at the Academy of Classic
Ballet and have been teaching Ballet and Conditioning classes since 1981.
The BBC Studio was founded in 1985 at the Lincoln Arts Center located at 66
Bell. We have been a part of the Belltown community for over 20 years.
The Studio is also available for rehearsals and classes.

Our Conditioning classes
are a set of exercises that strengthen and rejuvenate the entire body. The
routine, which is a combination of stretch and strength exercises, is un-matched
in its ability to tone the entire body. The renowned ballet instructor, Irene
Larsson, first developed this system of exercises. I first started taking
these classes in 1972 and was amazed at the results.
When I modernized the class in 1981, I added the latest in yoga techniques
and soon after that incorporated modern dance and hip- hop "booty shaking!"
We start the class on the floor with some gentle stretching and then move
into a progressive aerobic warm-up. Then it is back on the floor for sets
of sit-ups and pushups. Then it is up for some fast movements followed by
standing leg yoga stretches, cobra's and plough. We end the class with ab
lifts, crunches and leg lifts. After every exercise that we do fast, we follow
with a stretch. This class will positively affect every inch of your body.
Our classes are fun and non-competitive. You are free to decide how you need
your body to work the exercises.
The Monday and Wednesday class 11:30-12:30 is 1 hour. We work easily
on Monday and a little faster on Wednesday. The Tuesday & Thursday 6 PM
and the Saturday 11 AM, classes are 1 1/2 hour classes. We work easiest on
the first part of the week and hardest on Saturday.
It is best if you can work out at least 2 times a week for developing
strength and stamina. Just wear what you normally would to work out in. Most
of my students are adults, men and women, between the ages of 25 and 65. There
are all levels of fitness in the classes and we encourage everyone to take
the class. These classes are challenging and do everything you need to keep
the body supple and youthful, plus we use great music.

Sifu Julio Ferrer
Monday
& Thursday
7:30-9:30

WING CHUN KUNG FU is a martial
arts system based on the economy of motion. WING CHUN training includes analysis
and integration of the original eight theories. In addition, sensitivity,
power, coordination, speed, conditioning and cardiovascular training are developed
over time. The goal is to use minimum strength to overcome greater strength.
The combined theories of the FOUR GATES, CENTERLINE PRINCIPLE, STICKY HAND
and STICKY LEG are explored. An introduction to QI-GONG, meaning "Vital
Energy Exercise," is provided. Through daily practice, one can increase
the circulation of energy within the body and irrigate the internal organs
to promote healing and maintain optimum health. SIFU JULIO FERRER is the West
Coast director of Integrative Wing Chun which is headquartered in New York
City by Master Chung Kwok Chow. He began studying KWONG SAI JOOK LUM with
Gin Fook Mark. In 1972. He met Chung Kwok Chow and began training in WING
